The mobile racers actually worth installing right now
Mobile racing is a genre full of promise and full of disappointment. For every game that nails the feel of speed, there are ten that bury a decent car under menus and timers. We've spent weeks sorting the good from the forgettable.
Top of our list is Asphalt Drifters Neo. It gets the one thing right that most miss: drifting feels good. That single mechanic carries hours of play, and the neon tracks are genuinely nice to look at. Grid Runner 77 sneaks in too, less a traditional racer than a high-speed arcade sprint, but it scratches the same itch.
What separates a keeper from a delete is control feel. If steering fights you or boost timing is vague, no amount of shiny cars saves it. We always test with touch steering first, since tilt controls on a bus are a recipe for chaos.
Our rule of thumb: play for a full hour before judging. Plenty of racers dazzle in the first five minutes and then reveal how thin they are. The ones on this list held up well past that mark.
